We recently installed a new driveway in Gatley, Stockport. Our clients had a driveway that was old and tired, made from half-finished block paving and concrete. While the house looked great, the driveway detracted from it. Improving the look of the outside space added kerb appeal, complementing the property, while also making the area a more useable space for parking cars.
We used Plaspave block paving to create the edging along every side of the driveway. This nicely framed the shape and provided the template for us to then lay 6 sma tarmac. The charcoal coloured Plaspave block paving nicely worked with the black tarmac. Plaspave is the perfect choice for a new driveway in Gatley, Stockport as it is hardwearing and durable, so can take the weight of vehicles driving over it and being parked on it. With the cold and damp, we are sometime restricted by what materials we can use to install new driveways but due to using tarmac we were able to switch to something a little less weather dependent.
We also incorporated a 6” bull nosed kerb along the front of the driveway. This is a durable concrete edging with a rounded front edge, hence the name bullnose, that provides a smooth, softer profile for boundaries. With this project the kerb was able to hold the tarmac and Plaspave block paving in place. We added a KL kerb charcoal step to match the blocks and an ACOS drain along one side of the house.
