A Tarmac Driveway in Flixton, Manchester – Affordable and Effective!

Having cleared the area, we used Plaspave Sorrento blocks in Granite to mark out the size and shape of the new driveway in Flixton, Manchester. We then poured a base layer, followed by a 6mm layer of tarmac within the area that had been marked out. You can see from the photographs included that the granite-coloured blocks nicely picture framed the outside edges and provided a lovely contrast with the black tarmac.

We also added a step at the front door combining KL Kerb blocks with more of the Plaspave Sorrento blocks as well as some curved planters. We worked around the remaining section of the lawn creating flowing lines combined with more straight lines that followed the shape of the front of the house and garage.

The lovely flowing curved lines and straight angles made by using the Plaspave Sorrento blocks to line the perimeter of the tarmac driveway in Flixton, Manchester, highlighted its shape and made what could have been a bland driveway into something special.

An integral part of installing the new driveway in Flixton, Manchester was to fit an ACO drain between the block edging to make driveway SUDS compliant. Because tarmac isn’t porous it is important that the driveway has a drain for surface water to flow into. The results were a tidy, fuss free driveway that added curb appeal to the house.
