Block Paving Driveways – A Classic Addition to Any Home
A house in the countryside or rural village often requires a driveway that compliments its specific surroundings, offering a traditional look but with all the practical benefits of a modern product. At Planet Surfacing we can advise you on the range of different driveways you can have, such as resin bound and pattern imprinted concrete as well as block paving driveways, and the advantages of these. We can also highlight various options that suit your taste, style and surroundings.
That said, with so much to choose from you could go with a modern and contemporary driveway paired with a quintessential country cottage or traditional driveway with a modern looking house. The choice is yours!
Planet Surfacing recently installed a stunning new driveway in Lymm which perfectly fitted in with its surroundings. Our clients appreciated the advantages of block paving driveways and so chose to have Tobermore Shannon concrete paving blocks. Using these blocks creates a smooth surface ideal for driving and walking over but the tight joints between each block prevent weeds from growing, making it low maintenance. It is also hard wearing and durable.
Our clients chose heather blend from the range of colour options. You can see what the driveway looked like from the photographs included. Each brick has various colours and shades that when put together gives a beautiful appearance combining shades of burnt orange and purple.
We fitted the driveway across the front of the house as well as installing paths down both sides of the property. We included a flattering double border to define the perimeter of the new driveway in Lymm and paths. We skirted the edges of the garden on both sides. Our clients chose to have charcoal-coloured kerbs and edging for this which perfectly highlighted the charcoal colour in the paving blocks.
The driveway was brushed with kiln dried sand to fill in the tiny gaps between the paving blocks to prevent them from moving around. The final part of the process was to wacker down firmly into place the paving blocks.
