New Pattern Imprinted Concrete Driveway in Wigan

Another Customer Very Satisfied with their New Driveway in Wigan!

Planet Surfacing recently completed the installation of a new driveway in Wigan. Our clients wanted to cover the area along the front of their bungalow to make it a more attractive and practical space. They decided to have a pattern imprinted concrete driveway in Orrell, Wigan and opted to have Cheshire Cobble for the pattern and coloured in dove grey.

A beautiful, flowing curved edge along one side of the pattern imprinted concrete driveway in Wigan was incorporated into the design which allowed for a planted area, along with a neat straighter edge on the other side following the line of the fence. We acid stained the edging in mahogany which nicely framed the shape of the new driveway in Wigan and defined the perimeter of it.

The surface of the driveway was sloping towards the house. This isn’t a problem when using pattern imprinted concrete, we can work with any gradient of surface. In this instance we installed an ACO drain along the bottom of the slope in front of the garage door for surface water to run into.

In addition, we added a double KL kerb step at the front door using the same pattern and colour, so it nicely matched with the rest of the new driveway in Wigan. The final part of the process was to seal the concrete with a mid-sheen seal with anti-slip agent. You can see what the driveway looks like from the photographs included. The sealant gives it a lovely glossy appearance without making it slippery.
