We started the project for a new tarmac driveway in Gatley, Stockport, by clearing the area and laying a charcoal block border. This followed the edge of the house as well as the side fencing and front wall. It nicely picture framed the shape of driveway and defined the area where we then poured the first layer of tarmac to create a base. Once this had dried, we applied a 6mm topcoat of tarmac. We also built a step out of charcoal KL kerbs at the front door to match the edging blocks. All blocks were filled with kiln dried sand between them, and the step pointed in block mortar.
