Beautiful New Driveway in Urmston completed recently!

Planet surfacing recently completed installing another stunning new driveway in Urmston, Manchester.

On this occasion, our clients wanted to create more room for parking their cars. With no lawn to look after, a pattern imprinted concrete driveway is also a practical, low maintenance option.

From the wide range of options available, our clients chose to have the new driveway in Urmston, Manchester in classic grey with charcoal release. By having the charcoal release added it creates depth to the colour and defines the pattern making it look more like natural slate or stone.

We incorporated the existing hedge that was at the front of the house by installing the concrete driveway around it. Pattern imprinted concrete driveways can be a very flexible option as they can be adapted to the shape you want, meaning they can be cut around borders and hedging.

You will notice from the photographs included that a drain was installed across the front of the concrete driveway near to where the driveway meets the public footpath. A drainage system is essential and in line with this all driveways have to be SUDS (sustainable urban drainage system) compliant. That means that the surface and, in this case, the new concrete driveway, provides a place where water can drain through to the natural ground or directly into a soak-away. Having this means that existing sewage and drainage systems are not overwhelmed with water when there is a heavy downpour as the water flow is managed better.

In addition, a step up to the front door was installed matching the driveway and a new plastic hinged lid was included to cover the stop tap but allow easy access to it – you can see both of these in the photographs.
