New Driveway in Gatley, Stockport!

Reversing out of a driveway can be a tricky manoeuvre especially if you live on a busy road. That’s because it can be difficult to see oncoming traffic or for them to see you in plenty of time. Even if you slowly edge out of a driveway, you could cause other cars to brake or swerve if they think you are reversing out into their path. Alternatively, if the entrance to your driveway is quite narrow, this might mean having to swing out into the road in order toensure you are not turning into the driveway at a sharp angle. However, this can be a difficult move especially when there is oncoming traffic, giving you a limited amount of time.

The simple solution to both these problems is to widen the entrance of your driveway. Planet Surfacing recently laid a new driveway in Gatley, Stockport. Part of the project involved widening the driveway and moving one of the pillars at the entranceway to create easier access. We dissembled the pillar and rebuilt it in a slightly different position. Our clients are now able to move more freely in and out of their new driveway in Gatley, Stockport without endangering themselves or other drivers.

Our clients chose to have a pattern imprinted concrete driveway. From the wide range of patterns and colours they opted to have it printed in large London Cobble pattern and coloured in classic grey. This is a very popular choice and combines a traditional appearance with the modern benefits of imprinted concrete because it is low maintenance and hard wearing.

In addition, we shuttered a step out of concrete to match the pattern imprinted concretedriveway which was positioned at the front door to enable ease of access in and out of the house. We also installed a new fence and gate across one side of the house and boundary.

As a pattern imprinted concrete driveway is not porous, a drain must be incorporated toprovide somewhere for the water to flow into. To ensure that the driveway was SUDS compliant we fitted an ACO drain across the entrance of the driveway. You can see this in one of the photographs included.

To complete the new driveway in Gatley Stockport, we sealed it with a mid-sheen seal with anti-slip.
